What is a waiver?
The Medicaid Home and Community Based Services Ill & Handicapped Waiver (HCBS IH) provides service funding and individualized supports to maintain eligible consumers in their own homes or communities who would otherwise require care in a medical institution.

What types of services are available through a waiver?
Examples of services provided by the Ill and Handicapped Waiver:
* Respite
* Consumer-Directed Attendant Care (CDAC) - Activities where a person helps the consumer with self-care tasks, which he/she would typically be doing independently.
* Medicaid. Covers such items as doctors visits, prescription drugs, physical therapy, some medical equipment, and other in-home services.

What types of waivers are available for people with autism or aspergers?
* Ill and Handicapped
* Mental Retardation
* Brain Injury
